Introducing the Camera Cage for Blackmagic PYXIS 6K Pro Kit

This camera cage provides protective armor for the camera body and utilizes modular design choices to greatly improve the functionality of the Pyxis through mounting options like NATO Rail, Arri Rosette, Cold Shoe, 3/8″-16 and 1/4″-20 threads with locating points.

The Side Plate supports quick transitions to Vertical setups as it can be used as the bottom plate when mounted vertically and provides enough space between rods and lens for most accessories. When in this configuration, the plate features specifically positioned threads to align the baseplate with the optical center of the lens.

This Side Plate also supports external recording via the integrated SSD Mount and features multiple 1/4”-20 threads for various accessories. The SSD Mount accommodates hard drives 52mm-60mm wide and less than 12mm thick.

Both the Top and Bottom Plates are designed to avoid the body’s heat dissipation vents, ensuring the camera’s cooling performance remains unaffected. The Top Plate is compatible with the PYXIS native top handle and also features a detachable 3/8 to 1/4 thread adapter, allowing users to choose various top handles to best suit different sized setups.

Included in the Base Kit is the Xeno Top Handle, which connects to the Top Plate via NATO Rail. This improves handling and operating options via an elegant design with increased clearance. This handle features multiple mounting options for additional accessories including 1/4″-20 threads and a Cold Shoe Receiver, perfect for mounting an external monitor.

The included 15mm LWS Baseplate and two 15mm Rods allow users to mount rod based accessories like matte boxes or follow focus systems. On the bottom of the Baseplate is a Tilta Standard Dovetail Receiver, which can be adapted to work with Arri Standard Dovetails via our optional Tilta Standard to Arri Standard Multi-Functional Baseplate.

The Battery Plate easily mounts and locks into the battery compartment of the Pyxis in order to provide power to the camera and can be further secured to the Top Plate via a thumbscrew.

The Battery Plate features 2x 14.8V P-Tap ports, 1x 14.8V 2 Pin Lemo Port, 1x USB-C Port and one DC Power Input Port.
